United States, Miami, June 2013 – The Xerox ColorQube® 8900 Color Multifunction Printer, known for creating beautiful quality prints on a range of media while using far less waste than competing devices, has been upgraded to tackle a new form of waste: time. With the addition of new ConnectKey™ software, the ColorQube 8900 now comes equipped with solutions aimed at simplifying the way work gets done.
Announced earlier this year, ConnectKey software provides large, medium and small workplaces with fast and easy ways to make the most of their MFP investment. It includes an App Studio in which users and channel partners can customize applications that make daily work processes faster, and one-touch cloud access to industry-leading platforms like SharePoint Online, Google Drive, Dropbox, Evernote, and Salesforce.com. It also allows automatic conversion to searchable PDF, Word or Excel, making documents easier to manage for the future.
Other notable features of ConnectKey include:
- Connect to SharePoint: Office workers can browse, convert and store documents in SharePoint and network folders, or store directly to their SharePoint My Site or home folder.
- Easy IT integration: ConnectKey MFPs can be managed as a central part of the network, much like servers, for straightforward set-up and service. Troubleshooting and training can be addressed remotely by IT administrators, or self-help can be initiated with online support and videos on the front panel.
- Print from anywhere: Workers can print from any email-enabled mobile device without special software with Xerox Mobile Print, or use apps with additional convenience features developed for iOS, Android, Windows and Blackberry. Users have the added flexibility of choosing to implement mobile print as either a cloud-based or on-site solution.
- Advanced security features: Xerox has partnered with McAfee and Cisco to deliver an industry-first, comprehensive security solution that helps lock down networked MFPs. McAfee whitelisting technology ensures only safe, pre-approved system files run on these devices, and Cisco® TrustSec integration provides comprehensive visibility of all ConnectKey multifunction printers’ endpoints to enforce IT security policies and compliance.
Along with the robust ConnectKey feature set, the ColorQube also comes equipped with sustainable solid ink technology – cartridge-free, crayon-like ink sticks that produce up to 90% less printing waste compared to laser MFPs in the same class.
A unique Hybrid Color Plan rounds out the benefits allowing companies to pay based on the amount of color used per page. This means SMBs can produce high-quality, professional looking color prints such as sales brochures, flyers and presentation at an affordable price point and with less impact on the environment.
