New Xerox Wide Format Solution Increases Efficiency, Simplicity for Customers

MIAMI, United States, May 15, 2013 – When architectural, engineering, construction and manufacturing firms need to produce technical documents like building renderings, floor blueprints and construction plans, they need it done quickly and accurately. To address these needs, continue expanding its wideformat business, Xerox Xerox® (NYSE: XRX) today introduced the Xerox Wide Format 6705 Solution, which delivers an affordable new option with sharp, precise detail at high speeds.

The new device offers 600 x 600 dpi copying, scanning and printing to ensure crisp, accurate image quality on jobs such as emergency services maps or electrical wiring diagrams. A full-color scanner supports digitalization of largeformat color originals.

The 6705 can produce up to five A1 size pages per minute (or 2.7 A0 pages/minute), with a 30 percent improved first print time over the previous model. Further increasing productivity, the device lets users save time by processing printing and scanning jobs simultaneously.

Additional features include:

  • Intuitive user interface – the 10.4" color touch screen makes the device easy to operate, even for users that don't have familiarity with wide format printers.
  • Smaller footprint – the front-in front-out paper handling saves floor space.
  • Enhanced security features – in addition to encrypting and overwriting information such as scanned data, user information, addresses and job logs, the device allows users to store print jobs in the machine temporarily and print later by entering a password on the control panel.
  • Best in class image quality – new full color scanner delivers high quality images with improved scanning speed and world-class processing software
